Midweek Randoms...AKA My Pity Party

This week has just been one of those weeks!!! A when it rains it pours week...so I thought I would make my midweek randoms a little pity party and you're all invited =)

~The main upset of my week has been the loss of my wedding ring. I am extremely absent minded, I literally misplace my keys every single time I go to my parents house...seriously EVERY time, so it is no surprise that on occasion I take my wedding ring off somewhere and can't find it BUT this time is different! On the few times this has happened before I find it in a drawer somewhere I stuck it when I was cooking or giving the kids a bath, but I always find it within an hour or less of looking. This has been days and I have literally torn my house apart, I have looked in drawers, the trash (twice...yuck!), under every piece of furniture I can think of, in the kids toy box and the list goes on and on and on, but still no ring. I know I had it when I got home and I know the next day before I left I went to put it on and couldn't find it so it HAS to be here somewhere. My husband is going to take apart the sinks with hopes if one of my kiddos knocked it in, it will be stuck inside the pipes, but I am at a complete loss! My pregnant brain is failing me...BIG TIME, or my little almost 2 year old princess took off with mommy's ring and there is no telling where she left it! I know it is a material item, but this is something my husband worked so hard to pay for and I absolutely love everything about it and just cannot get over losing it! Please pray that it is found, until then it is cubic zirconia for me!

~Another fun thing this week is my husband's truck finally went kaput! (Secretly I am not a fan of this truck, but it is just another thing we get to pay for, so it would've been nice if it would've stuck around a little longer) Having a new baby on the way, extra expenses are not welcomed, but thats life!

~OK, OK though I am having a pity party I do always TRY to look on the bright side of things! All in all I have amazing family, the man of my dreams, two amazing healthy kiddos, my own little business that I absolutely love, and a healthy baby growing in my belly about to make her debut into this world...so all in all life is good!

~I also had my baby shower this week, which was so much fun! I am truly blessed to have so many great friends and family members, I will have to do a little post from my shower this week, but here is my cute little invite...(I of course whited out all of the info)

Who can be too upset when they get to see this little face everyday LOL, this is what her brother did with her, they always are making me laugh!!!

Fabulous Fall!

Fall is definitely my favorite season of the year! I love the weather, the football, the fun things to do, the pretty trees and the colors~ especially for clothes! This year I get to welcome our newest addition during fall so that makes it that much more wonderful! I love fall/halloween decor and have found so many neat ideas on pinterest! Here are a few pretty things I thought I would share!

Or if I don't paint them, I would love to do twinkle pumpkins like these! Maybe I will do a mixture of both!

Confessions of an (Over)Emotional Mom...

Well since I blogged last my oldest started Pre-K at a big boy elementary school. Let's just say it was an emotional week for mom! I had him enrolled in the preschool where he went to Mother's Day Out. I was fine with this...it was their 4 year old program, so it wasn't the same, but it didn't seem too different to me. And then we got the phone call...

Literally on my way to meet the teacher, the elementary school we had him on a waiting list for called with an opening. This hit me...HARD! I was comfortable with the preschool idea, it wasn't big boy school yet, he's been going there for 3 years so it didn't seem like it was a big change. I could just not wrap my head around the fact that he would actually be going to an elementary school full time. My husband called me with the news (poor thing), he was so excited because it would save us a lot of money every month and we had both been talking about how we had wished we could've gotten him in...he was SO thrown off when I just burst into tears, I'm sure it doesn't help that I'm 31 weeks pregnant! I was an emotional wreck, I never knew I was going to react like this. I cried to Justin (my hubby), to my parents (a few times each) and pretty much anyone else who would listen~if you are laughing at me, please refer to the "31 weeks pregnant" clause in the sentence above =). What's even worse is I used to teach Pre-K, so I knew how much fun he would have, but the emotions just kept coming.

It definitely took me a bit to get used to it, but Jackson absolutely LOVES it. His teacher seems amazing, and he has been having such a great time...so everything happens for a reason and mommy had to let go...a little. Here are some pics from his first day...sniffle, sniffle!

***Side note~don't you love how Sydnie is too busy admiring her shoes in this picture to pose with her brother. If anyone knows my daughter she is a shoe freak! Especially other peoples shoes. I just took her to a birthday party last week where the kids took their shoes off to bounce in a jupiter jump. This was like Christmas morning for Sydnie, she could care less about bouncing and was so excited to try on everyone's shoes. I think we are in for some trouble!***

I was holding back tears the entire time, I didn't want him to see me get upset! I made it all the way down to his classroom and then my husband gave me a sympathetic look and a hug. This is like the kiss of death for me, if you comfort me when I am on the verge of getting upset, it just all comes out~although I love my hubby and it was such a sweet gesture! I had to give Jackson a quick kiss, grab Sydnie and book it to the car. Jackson didn't see one tear being shed, so I think I did a really good job!

Does anyone else have first day of school stories??? I hope I'm not the only overly emotional mommy LOL!

What We've Been Up To...

This week has been a FUN and eventful week for the paperlicious fam!

Monday night I got to have a date night with my hubby. We went to one of my favorite restaurants~Osaka where they cook right in front of you. Lately we have been trying to have date nights more often because we know when Tatum gets here it will be a while until we are able to do this again! This isn't actually a picture from our dinner, I was too busy eating and forgot to take one, but this is the restaurant we went to. Sorry lazy photographer!

Tuesday night I made dinner at home with the kids! Jackson loves helping me cook and tonight involved crushing and smashing so of course he was all over it (don't you love his little chef hat, it kind of reminds me of a nun with the black and white, but he LOVES it)! Here is the recipe we made and I HIGHLY recommend it! I love how the recipe is so detailed, it made it really easy! Jackson took place of my food processor~mine is out of order at the moment. I just double bagged the cornflakes and a couple of minutes with my little man I am sure they were of food processor quality! The finished product is the picture from the blog where I got the recipe from, my didn't look quite this pretty and we made with broccoli instead, but it was still SO yummy!

Wednesday we just hung out at home and ate left overs so no cooking for me! Score!!! One of my favorite shows Big Brother was on so I got to spend some down time watching all the juicy drama!

Thursday we spent the day with friends, the kids got to play, and we got to get some back to school shopping done. Here is Sydnie getting some practice for when baby Tatum gets here. She did SO good, it eased my anxiety a little about when the baby gets here. Baby Asher is too cute!!!

I ended the day with my husband calling and asking if I would like to go to the Keith Urban concert, with awesome seats, and the tickets didn't cost a thing and he had already arranged a babysitter! Double Score! I was so excited, we had such a great time!!! Tatum was kicking through the entire concert, I'm not sure if she was mad about the music or if she was just dancing in my belly! If she will be anything like her sister I am sure she was loving it! Here are some pictures from the concert, everyone get ready to drool in 3, 2, 1.....DROOL! =)

I know lots of you ladies will think I am crazy, but I am just not that into Mr. Urban, I think the hair just doesn't do it for me, but I love his music. My favorite parts of the entire concert though were the way he involved the audience. He went around the arena and read the signs people were holding, one said, "My better half is in Afghanistan and I need a hug" so he brought her on stage and hugged her~this melted my heart! The girl was so excited to get up there she lost her flip flop on the way~he kept calling her Cinderella =)

Today we had another playdate with friends at Bounce U~one of those indoor bouncy toy places, next I got to go visit the school I used to teach at and visited with some of my friends from teaching! Wish I got to see them more!

We don't always get to have fun weeks like this so I soak it all in when we can! Hope you all had a great week and an even better weekend!

Latest Happenings!!!

Things at the Paperlicious household have been busy, busy, busy! I have been so busy with so many new and AWESOME customers from my recent giveaways, which I am so grateful for. We have been battling illnesses the past 3 weekends in a row, we are trying to get our home ready to sell, and the heat outside has been unbearable!!! In the midst of all of this crazy I am wanting to get on more of a blog schedule where I can include some fun things about the Paperlicious family, some giveaways, recipes, etc. so its not ALL about business. I am almost scared to type this, because I am not sure when I will get on a this schedule I am talking about~so no one is allowed to hold me to it =)

This is going to be a fun couple of months, we have wedding showers, birthday parties, and then baby showers! My sister is getting married in October and we are having her shower this weekend! This is very hard to believe, she is 7 years younger than me, and sometimes I still feel like she is 14 years old and needs to be protected from everything in the world~how is she possibly getting married??? Guess I am having a tiny taste of how things will be when my little ones get to this point in their lives~although for now Jackson vows to never leave me~which of course I am ecstatic about!

Speaking of my little man he turns 5 this month!!! How is that possible? Every stage with a child is so new and fun and this one is no different. Although he finds one way or another to torment his little sister daily and is turning into quite the little smart alec, there is no one in the world that can make me laugh the way he does! He is my little comedian, and he won't let you get away with ANYthing, he is smart and he knows it! He is a mixture of hysterical, rambunctiousness, ornery ~is this really how this is spelled, mixed with a whole lot of sweetness, he has the kindest heart! Normally I love to go all out for birthday parties, but this year I am taking a stand against the party pressure and we are laying low. Just a family cookout, some cake, presents and that is pretty much it! I am pregnant, its hot, and this is all we are doing darn it!

My baby shower is also next month! I only have less than 12 weeks left if I go until my due date and it seems like this pregnancy has gone so darn FAST! I look at my little man and my little girl and wonder how this new baby girl will fit in. Will she look like them, whose personality will she have, is she going to be my like my busy, sweet boy or like my sweet and sassy, shoe loving diva girl... although I know she will have a personality all of her own! Can't wait for the new adventures to begin~I will be sure to keep you posted!

Super Bowl Recipe

It's Super Bowl Sunday, and I'll be honest, to me it's all about the FOOD and commercials! We are going to a super bowl party at my parents house and everyone is bringing their favorite appetizer. I love parties like this, I could seriously live off of appetizers! I thought I would share my go to recipe for just about any party or get together. This one has been passed all around my family and friends and it is a crowd pleaser!

Sausage Wontons:

What You Will Need:

WonTon Wrappers-Most likely found in the produce section

1lb regular sausage-you can go with hot if you like things more spicy or 1lb ground beef if you are not a sausage person

1 Red Bell Pepper-chopped and seeded

1 jalepeno pepper-chopped and seeded (you can leave the seeds in if you like things HOT)

1 small bottle of ranch or about 2 cups

1 package of cheese~I like to get the mexican blend

1/3 cup of chopped green olives-you can also do with black olives

Pam Cooking Spray

Mini muffin Pan

Here's What You Do:

Heat your oven to 350 degrees

Cook and drain your sausage and then mix with peppers, ranch, cheese, and olives. Take wonton wrappers and place one gently in each mini muffin slot, leaving them open. Spray some pam on the top of all the wrappers once you have them in the muffin pan. Cook these for 8-9 minutes. Remove from oven and fill with your sausage mixture-about a spoonful in each. Once you have them all filled cook for another 8-9 minutes. Let cool and DIG IN!!!! Makes about 48.

Movie Night Birthday Gift

So I can't take credit for this adorable birthday gift idea, but I will definitely be putting something like this together in the future. One of my sweet friends came to me for a straw and sippy cup for a 2 year olds birthday party she went to! The little boy loves "Yo Gabba Gabba", so she put together the cutest little movie night theme gift basket (bucket) for him (and fun for the whole fam)~complete with a "Yo Gabba Gabba" DVD. Just thought this was too cute not to share! She also writes an adorable blog~though I don't know how she has time to write...she has the cutest one year old boy, runs marathons, takes the most amazing pictures, and of course puts together cute little gift baskets!!! I know right...AMAZING....you will have to check it out!!!

Our Christmas Traditions!

Jackson is four this year, so the enchantment of Christmas has begun! Christmas was really exciting for him last year as well, but I feel like this year is the first that he is really grasping the concept and it is so much FUN! I recently did a webcast on the blog 247 moms and during the show they discussed some FUN holiday traditions! I got so many great ideas for the Yancer household, and it has already been so much fun! I LOVE Christmas, it is definitely my favorite holiday and it is just as exciting for me as it is for Jackson (and someday Sydnie) to start these Christmas traditions that we will do for years to come!!!The first of course is the advent calendar. I just went with the simple chocolate advent that you can get at Hallmark for a little over $3.00. They have SO many adorable advent calendars I have found on etsy, but my little man has a major sweet tooth, so I knew chocolate would be the way to his heart...cheap and easy...SOLD! Also we are limit

ed on space in our house, we are literally busting out, so there was no room for one of the large, yet adorable advent calendars I've found online! Here is ours:

The next holiday tradition is "The Elf On the Shelf", which I also bought at Hallmark for a little under $30. This comes with an adorable little story, which I plan to read on Thanksgiving night each year, and a cute little elf, that you get to name. Jackson chose the name "Christmas" for our elf, which I thought was very fitting! You place the elf on a shelf and he watches your child(ren) throughout the day and uses his magic to fly himself to the North Pole and report to Santa~how clever and parent friendly is that??? The book also encourages you to move Christmas in different places each day so your child can find him in a different spot. I didn't think I was going to do this, but I moved him last night right after Jackson went to bed, and the surprise on his face this morning was totally worth it:

And the last holiday tradition I am definitely going to start this year will help to start my collection for the little Christmas villages. I have always LOVED these, and remember watching them when I was little! Instead of just getting a piece every year, she recommended including your children. Each year I plan on taking the kiddos and they get to help me pick out a piece for my village! She said when they had a good year, they may splurge on a nice little house or two, and on other years they may just get a little accessory to add to it! I haven't bought mine yet, but we plan to go next weekend when we go to visit Santa!
